Fox Valley Memory Cafe
Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
Memory Cafe Contributions, 2022
Construction paper
Facilitated by Susan McFadden

Memory cafe participants made collages expressing loneliness and connection. One person showed the separation felt in loneliness compared to the vitality of connection. Another person showed the eye of connection and two people worked together to show the jagged edges of loneliness compared to the intersections of connection.

“Loneliness is a form of brokenness, with its jagged, rax edges.

Connectedness shares and acknowledges the brokenness and provides support when life spirals out of control”

-Maria Steenpoorte
